The problem with freedom is that it is a two-sided coin. On one side is the liberty to make decisions; on the other is responsibility.

America is the great "melting pot," a rich blend of cultural traditions from all over the world. Many American families can trace their histories to immigrant ancestors who traveled great distances, enduring risk and hardship, to make a home where they would be guaranteed basic freedoms. And for many American families these freedoms came with a struggle. Their parents and grandparents were denied the basic rights we value.
American society was founded on freedom from religious persecution and on tolerance of differences in beliefs and cultural heritage. The differences (or diversity) that come from people from all over the world enrich our culture, bringing new ideas and energy.
Today, more than ever, kids interact with people of differing ethnicity, religions, and cultures. Classrooms are increasingly diverse, reflecting the communities where families live and work.

We all want children to grow up in a world free from bias and discrimination, to reach for their dreams and feel that whatever they want to accomplish in life is possible. We want them to feel loved and included and never to experience the pain of rejection or exclusion. But the reality is that we do live in a world in which racism and other forms of bias continue to affect us.

Discrimination hurts and leaves scars that can last a lifetime, affecting goals, ambitions, life choices, and feelings of self-worth.To this end The American Rainbow Mobile Museum was created. The goal of the American Rainbow Mobile Museum is to educate, and enlighten our children of the greatness of this country, and the contribution that all Americans regardless of race, has contributed to this country.
The mission of the American Rainbow Mobile Museum is to delight, inspire and challenge by providing an exciting and interactive learning environment in which children and their adults can explore the wonders of the worlds cultures .To reach kids, the van travels to a few schools a week during the school year. Classes visit for 45 minutes, typically divided into two groups (one outside at an activity table, and one in the van), switching places after 20 minutes. A month before visiting a school, Museum mails the school a packet with an informational CD and curriculum. Teachers can pre-teach to prepare their students for the van’s visit, or use some lessons as a follow-up to reinforce the information after the visit. We Also, take information in the form of books pictures and posters into neighborhoods that we have chosen to show the children how great their ancestors have been throughout America's History.
Do not handicap your children by making
                     their lives easy.’

When kids learn about other cultures, it helps them understand and feel engaged in the world. They become interested in how other people live, their cultural norms and values, different religions and languages. I think it helps them see the beauty of different cultures and appreciate the differences and similarities in how we and others live.

The American Rainbow Mobile Museum also teach our youth about recycling, and ways of caring for mother earth,we also have a program where by we help the elderly, and bring our youth and or elderly together on different projects.
